Student Journalist and Editor-in-Chief
Web & Social Media
As Web EIC last year I worked hard to post frequently on the website and promote stories and content on our social media. Earning SNO badges we worked hard to produce a plethora of content such as time-sensitive news stories, opinion pieces, restaurant reviews, student features, photo stories, and more.
This year with the help of the Social Media Editor we have introduced Instagram reels covering student opinions and upcoming events. Finding out what students like to see, how they like receiving information, and what gets the most clicks has been instrumental in raising our engagement numbers.
BM Press covers time-sensitive stories, reviews, features, sports, and faith. While only a limited amount of stories can be put in the publication every quarter, we can publish many stories on the website much faster. I keep track of our engagement with SNO analytics to see what gets people to our site.
During my time as Web EIC, I led brainstorms, edited stories, managed workflow, designed covers, and took pictures for web content.
My sophomore year BM Press was a distinguished SNO site.

To keep posting schedules organized during months when we posted every day of the week to increase audience engagement, I made calendars and Google sheets to keep track of when stories were being posted and who was in charge of what.
