Hello, my name is Elaina Gibson and I am a senior at Bishop Miege High School in Roeland Park Kansas. This is my third year on my school’s newspaper, The Miegian, and I am currently Print Editor-in-Chief. 

 

I joined the staff my sophomore year as a writer and then advanced to Web Editor-in-Chief my junior year. Now I oversee the creation of our publication and an eighteen-person staff. 

 

I have placed in multiple KSPA monthly, regional, and state competitions and my staff has won the 2023 and 2024 4a state competitions. We also have been named All-American and All-Kansas publications for the last two years. 

 

I love writing stories about student life and featuring unique individuals. I plan to continue my journalism career in college by majoring in political journalism next year.
